Cant Sleep

I’m really pissed off, it’s nearly 5am and I’m wide awake. I have to be up for work in a few hours. I’m listening to chilled out tunes on last.fm in an attempt to drift off to sleep.

Perhaps it’s the technology in my room keeping me awake? I can see the flashing lights of the wireless router, there must be about 7 little green specs in the corner, next to that is the modem 4 solid green lights followed by a flashing orange one. I can see the warm red glow of the mouse that is still on, the computer is whering away to itself, I’m used to that though.

At the foot of my bed is my telly, another green light just staring at me, then next to it the sky box – I forgot to turn it off so the hard drive was clicking away – I’ve sorted that now, instead I just have a red light looking at me.

Next to my bed is my mobile, on charge so the flashing green ‘ok’ light is interupted by an orange ‘charging’ light. Of course, just incase there are any bluethooth devices around the phone is emmiting a bright blue ‘coooie bluetooth over here sweetie’ light. fucking whore.

I can’t turn it all off though, I think it’s alive. Living among us, keeping me awake.

Update: I feel like shit this morning. Thanks to the anonymous caller who rang the home phone at 5:29am, fucking joker.
