Today was the last day of the summer transfer window and my team Everton have been like a poor tramp going through the bins outside a kebeb shop seeing what scraps they can gather before going to sit back on the corner by cash converters and the bakers oven with only a scrotty dog and a three month old Sunday Times to keep warm. They’ve come away with Carlo Nash & chips and Loius Saha who presumably comes with his own physio bench.
We didn’t get Joey Barton or Alan Smith though – every cloud and all that!
UPDATE: Overnight Everton have broken their transfer record with the signing of Marouane Fellaini, a 6 foot 5 midfielder for £15 Million!
I really don’t know what Man City are up to. I was shocked this morning when I read the news.
Still, Wolves only signed 3 defenders yseterday. We didnt need to sign anybody else as we’ve got by far the best front line and midfield outside the Premiership.
Still, 90% of Premiership teams would love to have Michael Kightly and Sylvan Ebanks Blake on their books – including Everton. Oh, and Wayne Hennessey and Matt Murray.
Got Phil Neville in me fantasy team and he’s letting me down.
And talking of fantasy football, sleeping giants Spartak Stavros have made a slow start to the season not at all helped by Lescott’s leaky Everton and Berbatov’s strops. Oh and Mark Noble’s spinning bird tackle, or whatever he was sent off for the other week. Still it’s early doors, a marathon not a sprint, there are no easy games at this level anymore, you can’t win anything with kids, I’d love it, love it if we beat them, and if my boys give 110% week in week out then we’ll be there or thereabouts and I’ll be over the moon, Jeff.
you watch saha go and score 20 goals this season……….. well maybe not
