Before this horrible event is even over Fox News spaffs their special kind of ‘terror-porn’ all over their website with scant regard for the facts.
1) While one group has already claimed responsibility for the attack, no one can be sure if they’re Muslim terrorists, but so what if they are, a terrorist is a terrorist no? Are ETA terrorists known as ‘Roman Catholic’ Terrorists?
2) These terrorists may/maybe not holding westerners hostage, they are also holding non-westerners hostage too – only one eyewitness account so far has suggested that they pin pointed British & US people. Terrorists are opening fire indiscriminately at anyone, a stolen police van fled the scene while shooting at anyone who happened to be in the street. A hospital has been attacked an hostages taken, indiscriminate. 2 of the top police officers have been killed, one a high profile ranking officer has been repeatedly threatened in emails from an existing terrorist group.
I’ve just watched hours of news channels from Sky, Fox, BBC and most of all India’s NDTV and the eagerness of the US & UK media to instantly judge that this attack is a proxy attack on the west is plain to see. India has it’s own enemies too y’know.

Deccan Mujahideen has claimed responsiblity. The tactics matched previous AQ attacks. Mujahideen means a Muslim Guerilla Fighter.

If a terrorist group launches attacks in NYC against Brighton Beach, Forest Hills, and the russian consulate than it’s not an insane conclusion to state that that group was targetting russians. What is your objection to the media making a statement which is quite likely to be true? Because you just read Said? Does it change things if the “westerners” are dual citizens or indian emigres?

Doubtful, these attacks were are unprecented. Previous AQ (love the idea that people think AQ is one group) attacks are bombs and suicide, not armed seiges, gunmen and escaping terrorists.
Deccan Mujahideen are likey to be an offshoot of another group, a possible Kashmir sepratist group too. So I don’t buy this Fox news Holy War shit, just to stir up fear in the US.
If you watched as much Indian news as I did last night (maybe you did) you’d know that it wasn’t just westerners that had been targeted, it was all tourists and the Mumbai elite who inhabit that part of the City.

A gunman inside one of the Mumbai hotels holding dozens of hostages has demanded the release of “mujahideens” and Islamic militants held in Indian jails.
The man, who identified himself as Sahadullah, told Indian TV by phone that he was one of seven attackers inside the Oberoi hotel. “Release all the mujahideens, and Muslims living in India should not be troubled.”
The man said he belonged to an Indian Islamist group seeking an end to the persecution of Indian Muslims.
Of course, grab a couple of yanks and brits and you’re going to get even more coverage for your cause but this was in no way a ‘targeted’ attack on Westerners as much as the Western media seemed to want it to be.
